Today here is sunny day, lovely morning . Taking a little moment to share with a recipes “Traditional Russian Sweet and Sour Purple Cabbage”, which i have changed a little to make for diabetes patient without any hesitation you can keep this meal into your menu twice or thrice a week.
Russian original dish they add brown sugar, black current jam, apple cider vinegar. As we all know Apple Cider Vinegar is not for diabetes patient or for normal person , it cause Cerebral edema is excess accumulation of fluid (edema) in the intracellular or extracellular spaces of the brain.
Apple Cider Vinegar is potassium , excessive potassium in our body cause kidney failure. Better stay caution. never think adding in food it will not harm reaction to body is double harmful.
1/2 purple cabbage,
1 white onion
6 pieces of garlic
1/2 – 1 tablespoon of salt
4 tablespoon of olive oil
1/2 fresh Lemon
Purple cabbage :- cut into small pieces boil 12 mins with a pinch of salt, or until it is soft.
Onion & Garlic: soak 2 mins both of them in hot water add little lemon,Cut onion & garlic in small piece or into slices according to your choice.
Apple:- Clean the apple, remove the skin of it, slices into small pieces.
Take a pan start to fry onion and garlic both, make it little brown .
Add purple cabbage to it, time to add salt . Cook for 5 mins until smell start to come.
Apple to be added now, cook for 2 mins add 1/2 cup of water not more. Allow it to cook well.
Finally remove from stove add lemon to it . If you are having sodium problem , please not to add lemon, as this remove sodium from body.
You can eat with 4 tablespoon of rice and a full big plate of vegetable, diabetes patient can eat a lot of vegetables, this make you healthy, control blood sugar,great for eyes & skin, it have more rich sources of vitamins and minerals, boosts the immune system,anti cancer properties, heal ulcers , improve digestive which diabetes patient suffer the most. If your blood pressure is low can add little black pepper.
Apple is alkaline, it improve digestive system, you are allow to eat one full apple per day. No bloating of food .
Cottage cheese can be added to it optional
